5,000 Pesos KK Malaysia Challenge

NEW

Its not my first time in KK pero itong second na visit ko ang masasabi na super nag enjoy ako.

Sabi nila ang KK daw ay parang Pilipinas lang din, maraming Pilipino, and most of the local Malay knows how to speak Tagalog. We are so amazed! But I never expected na super mag eenjoy din ako at ang mga kasama ko. We are 6 in the group and honestly we don’t have much money to spend and we are determined na pagkasyahin ang 5,000 pesos budget para sa 3 araw na tour namin. And I’m happy to share our experience with you.

AIRFARE:

To give you and idea how we book our airfare, nag abang kami ng murang flight and we booked it ahead of time, like 6 months ahead, and luckily we got around 3,000 pesos two way ticket! Wow how about that? Hahaha

DAY 1 FRIDAY: (Excited kami syempre)

11AM – Arrival at Kota kinabalu Airport. Sa airport pa lang pwede ka nag magpapalit ng pera from PESO to RM, but to give you an idea not to exchange too much, yung kailangan nyo lang muna to book a GRAB or Uber and to buy some food. Why? Because the exchange rate inside the airport is kinda lower compare outside. That’s what we did.

Airport to Hotel- what we did is we compare rates on GRAB and UBER before we booked, we acutally do this in the Philippines para mas makatipid. Only  max of 4 passengers can fit in the car so we booked 2 Grab’s separately, unlike here in the Philippines, they don’t have a six seater Grab or Uber so if your in a big group you might want to divide yourselves.

Transpo: 10RM

ARRIVAL TO HOTEL: Nagbooked kami ng hotel 1 month before the trip, why? Because the rate of advance booking is cheaper. Our Hotel is called Gaya Hotel and  we really appreciate its good location, malapit sya sa Filipino Market, Night Life, Sunday Gaya Street Market, Malls, Travel Agencies at higit sa lahat malapit sya sa Seafood Stall Restaurants.

HOTEL RATE PER PAX is 1,000 pesos

We had our lunch at Suria Sabah Mall. This mall is just in front of our hotel, merong mga local retaurants sa loob na pwede nyo kainan. Since first day namin at di pa kami masyado familiar sa lugar, hindi kami nakatipid at nakahanap ng masarap na local restaurant, pero dahil gutom na gutom na kami kumain na lang kami kung ano ang available. Just to give you advice, agahan nyo ang book ng trip nyo para mas maaga kayo makarating at makapag ikot-ikot kayo around the area.

After Lunch, our next move was to find the Travel Agencies to book our tours for the next 2 days. Our hotel is offering tours also but we find it a bit expensive so we decided na maghanap muna ng mas mura. Luckily yung Grab driver na nasakyan naming from the airport is very accommodating, he told us what we need to know, where to go and how to get there.

He suggested that we go to Jesselton Point Ferry Terminal to booked our tour.

And guess what? we were able to get the best price that will fit our tour preference and  budget.

Pagpasok pa lang naming sumalubong na samin ang mga ahente ng ibat ibang travel agencies and they are competing with each other rates! Now its time to Negotiate!

We actually asked for the haft of the price of what they offer and luckily we got max of  45% discount!

Where to Eat?

Sa halagang  936 pesos or 78RM may 3 putahe na kami at may take out pa. Hehe!

Day 2 SATURDAY: (Excited pa din)

Proceed to Jesselton Point Ferry Terminal

Another tip, magdala ng beach matt dahil pag dun kayo nagrent its 10RM guys.

NIGHT LIFE:

So many bar to choose from at mind you super dami din ng foreigners. Oops wag masyado gumastos…its 5k challenge. Hahaha!

Ay DAY 3 Na! (ang bilis)

After breakfast sa hotel, pinuntahan naming ang famous Muslim Temple and Buddhist Temple.

TIPS: Kung inabot kayo ng lingo besh, might as well ay puntahan nyo ang SUNDAY MARKET sa Gaya Street, another best place to eat and buy pasalubong. It is opend from 5:30am to 1:30pm.

Dahil pagod kami at puyat sa night out last night di naming to napuntahan late na kami nagising. Hahaha!Ganun talaga besh, you cant have the best of the both worlds! Sunday market or City tour? Hahaha

Moving on to the last part of the tour, Klias Wetland River Cruise to spot Proboscis Monkey.

This tour starts from 2pm, 2 hours away from the city. Malapit ito sa Mount Kinabalu.

It’s a time with nature. Hahaha!

Before sunset we move to the Kinabalu beach to take photos of the beautiful sunset! Super nag enjoy kami dito promise!

Around 6pm bumalik na kami to have our dinner. It’s a local food, we had chicken adobo, sitaw adobo at ginisang gulay.

Reminder lang mga besh, you will not eat alone…why? Mosquitos are with you, habang kumakain ka, kinakain ka nila. You might want to bring a mosquito repellant or wear pants instead of shorts.

After dinner we proceed to the last part of the package, the CRUISE WITH THE FIREFLIES… or Alitaptap. In slung, alituff-tuff, hahaha, that’s how my friend pronounced it. Its so magical, tinatawag ng tour guide ang mga alitaptap gamit ang ilaw. Para syang Shaman haha! Tapos lalapit ang mga aliptap sa ferry! Gosh its really a wonderful experience!

oH mga besh tapos na! Uwian na mga besh, sana may konting tip akong nabigay sa inyo if you are planning to go to KK Malaysia

OVER ALL IT’S A WONDERFULL EXPERIENCE!

Tandaan nyo mga besh, walang perfect place, you only make it perfect just being happy and enjoy every bit of the experience.

Till our next stop!
